I’m always on the hunt for quality, useful and gorgeous baby and toddler items to share with you all. This month I got my hands on 3 items from bblüv and they didn’t dissapoint!

I was looking for a playmat for Zane’s room. He likes to play with trucks and books on the floor and wanted somewhere washable yet comfortable for him to play. The catch? I wanted one that could transform from a fun and vibrant mat, to a simple and modern looking mat that could be used in other areas of my home without being an eyesore. The Mülti Miles Reversible Playmat does just that! It’s reversible - one side has a fun and exciting road map for Zane to play around on with his cars, and the other side is a simple solid grey. The added bonuses are that it’s non-toxic, easy to clean, rollable (so it can be easily stored), waterproof and SUPER padded - so even when he asks me to sit my super pregnant butt down and play with him, I am comfortable. Viziö All-In-One Digital Video Baby Monitor

I learned with Zane (through trial and a LOT of error) that finding a good video baby monitor is not as easy as it sounds. They all say they’re great… they all say they’re easy to use… they all boast about great picture quality. But then you get home, can’t figure out how to set it up, turn it on and once you finally do, you can’t even see your baby clearly. Not surprisingly, Viziö All-In-One Digital Video Baby Monitor does exactly what it said it would! It has CrystalVu™ technology that gives you motion activated sound & image during the day and it has invisible led light so you can see them at night! It has a 3.3” color LCD display, an easy to navigate menu and zoom function, wireless technology, temperature sensor, 8 lullabies and it alerts you when the temperature is too hot, too cold, when it’s low on battery, when it’s out of range and it even has a baby feeding alarm! Ümi – 2-in-1 Ultrasonic Humidifier & Air Purifier

Before the Ümi, I had yet to find a Humidifier I liked (in fact, I have gone through 3 with Zane so far and not only have they all broken, but they’ve all been mediocre at best). For starters, the fact that the Ümi is not only a humidifier, but also an Air Purifier makes me jump up and down with excitement. Clean air is the first step to keeping your mini’s healthy and happy and now I don’t need a separate machine to do that! It requires no filters and it maintains the level of humidity in the room for up to 28 hours! I love the backlit LCD screen because I can sneak into Zane’s room while he’s sleeping and turn it on or off if I want without needing a light, it has an automatic shut-off when water levels are low, and you can even add essential oils to the diffuser! It has an awesome night light with changing colors that can be turned on or off and it covers up to 538 sq/ft so no matter how large your child’s room is, it has you covered! Drugstore vs. High End Makeup - Is There Really A Difference?

IMG-2059.JPG

I've always wondered whether the big priced tag attached to some of my favourite brands of makeup really was justified. I'm by no means a product junkie, so I decided to go to someone who is and put some makeup to the test! I spent the morning with Amanda from Lashes Lips N Liner (follow her on Instagram for your daily dose of makeup heaven and product recommendations) and we did a quick makeover using drugstore brands on one side of my face and high end makeup on the other. Surprisingly, when I asked you all on Instagram which was which, the majority of you spotted the difference! I'm going to cover which products we used, which Amanda thinks are comparable and which she absolutely thinks are worth the extra investment! We went for a super quick and easy every day look and will be covering some tips and tricks next week!

AFTER! MAkeup by Amanda
left side: Drugstore brands ($43)
right side: High end brands ($158)

These are the products we used:

Correcter/concealer: Pixi by Petra ($17) vs Benefit Boi Ing ($30)
Blush: Annabelle ($8) vs. Burberry ($50)
Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara ($6) vs. Urban Decay Perversion ($32)
Brow Gel: Essence Make Me Brow ($4) vs. The Brow Gal ($22)
Lipstick: Rimmel by Kate ($8) vs. MAC ($24)

Drugstore Total: $43
High End Total: $158

Over all, the only 2 products that Amanda really recommends spending a bit more on are the Concealer and the Lipstick. You can see in the picture that my dark circles aren't as well concealed by the cheaper brand (and we know that as moms we need all the help we can get covering those bad boys)!

The lipstick is also worth the investment for a few reasons:
#1. The feel. I could IMMEDIATELY feel the difference. The more expensive lipstick felt nicer on my lips
#2. The smell. The cheaper brand had a more plastic and synthetic smell.
#3. The wear. The cheaper lipstick will run and will not last as long.

Stay tuned next week for our 5 product - 5 minute makeover!
