It starts out as a colourful game that encourages hand-eye coordination and pattern recognition as a unique type of puzzle!

There are 15 coloured sheets and circular tokens that you drop into the game and try to match the colours to the image! Once your child is a little more advanced, it becomes a strategy game with 2 players, similar to tic tac toe, but with coloured tokens that you drop into the game and first person to get 3 of the same colours in a row wins! I love Pixxo Junior for a few reasons. First, because there are 15 different coloured sheets, it keeps my son busy for much longer than a traditional puzzle.

Once he finishes with one image, he can simply swap it out and start on another! Second, there are so many ways that this game helps my son learn! Not So Terrible Twos Thanks to My First Bear Paws

Oh Terrible Twos, how I dreaded you for SO long. Before I knew it, my first born was 2 years old and here I was waiting for the storm to hit. It’s been quite the adventure so far (he’s now 2.5 years old) but we’re surviving and with smiles on our faces (most of the time!). It really hasn’t been as bad as everyone promised, and I think a lot of it has to do with being prepared for whatever hits! I’m sharing below my top 2 tips for surviving the “not so terrible twos” so that you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying all of the firsts!

Keep them busy and give them their independence: A stimulated toddler is a happy toddler... and a toddler that can make their own decisions is an even happy toddler! I try, as best as I can, to let Zane explore, be independent and enjoy all of the “firsts” that come along with growing up! Since turning 2, he’s had so many fun firsts and I can’t wait to see what happens next! He picked out his clothes for daycare for the first time, he has his first girlfriend (her name is Emma), he had his first concert at daycare where they learned to sing over 10 songs and he even decided he wanted to start picking out his own snacks. It’s no surprise to me that he chose My First Bear Paws, and I’m not complaining! They’re delicious and made with only 5 grams of sugar per serving!

If you’ve been following me for a while now, then you know that they’ve been our go-to snack for over a year. They were the first snack that we ever gave Zane, and they are the only snack we trust! He loves them now as much as he loved them back then!

Getting Back Into Shape With A Newborn

For those of you who have been following along on my pregnancy journey, you know that we welcomed the newest addition to our growing family on April 2 - little Boston Novak. He is a little bundle of deliciousness and spends the day sleeping and cuddling. I’ve been soaking up every second of newborn bliss, but with the warmer weather around the corner (and pool season!) it’s time to get back into shape! Finding the time, energy and free hands to exercise with a newborn is not easy. I thought I would share some of my tips and recommendations for getting into shape and feeling better about your postpartum body!

For starters, you don’t need to go to a gym to start losing weight. There are SO many programs online that you can download on your phone or watch on YouTube that make working out at home a breeze. There are programs that last as little as 20mins/day or ones that give you a full-body 1 hour workout! I totally recommend starting slow. Don’t be too hard on yourself and definitely start with a reasonable goal. It took 9 months to put the weight on, so don’t expect it to come off over night!

Make sure to stay hydrated, get a good quality yoga mat so that you don’t hurt your knees, take it slow, and I recommend getting a pair of AfterShokz Trekz Air wireless headphones! It’s no fun and it’s definitely not motivating to work out in silence, and you most likely will be working out while your newborn naps! The Truth About Pregnancy Pillows

I didn’t buy any when I was pregnant with Zane… mostly because I was skeptical and not really sure why a pregnancy pillow would be that different than the 20 pillows I had on my bed already. I remember with Zane, I had 1 pillow under my belly, another between my legs, 2 behind me so I wouldn’t roll on my back and a few others depending on how uncomfortable I was. They didn’t really help for long periods of time because they always shifted, moved out of place, or when I eventually had to get up to go pee, it was mission impossible getting them all back into place.
