The Process

My inspiration for our ensuite bathroom was a serene spa-like oasis. I wanted it to feel like I was stepping into a luxurious and relaxing spa environment every time I was in our new bathroom! I wanted faucets that were modern and sleek, shower fixtures that had a variety of water settings, but also looked gorgeous, a soaker tub that was not only a statement piece but also allowed for a deep and relaxing soak, and then finally, a toilet that wasn’t an eyesore, but instead flowed perfectly with our bathroom design. American Standard delivered on every single one of my wants and needs, and each piece came together perfectly to create the ultimate relaxing spa-like space in my very own home!
The Products
Have you ever had a toilet that you LOVED? Me neither, until we ordered the Studio® S Right Height Elongated Toilet with Seat. Its minimalist and sleek design makes it beautiful, but my favourite features are the PowerWash™ rim and the EverClean® coating! The PowerWash™ rim releases a surge of water to scrub the bowl with every flush, which I’m pretty sure is every mom’s dream, and the EverClean® coating inhibits the growth of stain and odour-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface! I think I may need to replace every toilet in my home with this one.
For the tub, we chose the Studio® S Oval Freestanding Soaking Tub that is made from premium acrylic with a high-gloss UV and stain-resistant surface. Its sleek contemporary design easily integrates into any bathroom beautifully. A big soaker tub was high-up on our want list and the Studio® S Oval Freestanding Soaking Tub from American Standard is 68 inches long and has a 17 inch soaking depth for an ultimate deep soaking experience!
Good quality faucets are vital fixtures in any bathroom space and I believe it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed with the ones we chose! We chose the Boulevard Widespread Bathroom Faucets and the Contemporary Square Freestanding Tub Faucet as they’re both sleek and sophisticated and easily work in any bathroom design.
For our shower, we chose the Spectra Plus Handheld 4-Function Hand Shower and the Spectra Plus Fixed 4-Function Shower Head. My favourite feature has to be the unique 4 spray functions on both shower heads that range from drench to sensitive, to jet to PowerWash™ so you can enjoy the ultimate personalized shower experience. It also has a pressure-compensating flow control device, so if the water pressure drops, it will still provide a constant flow of water. This means that you can enjoy an uninterrupted shower even if your kids are flushing the toilet and turning on and off the taps 100 times while you’re in there!

I’m going to be honest and say that I never thought a toaster could be exciting. I mean, it’s a toaster. 1 sheet of puff pastry , thawed
Jam of your choice for the filling
1 tsp cornstarch
1 large eggs
1/2 tsp salted butter , melted
1 tbs of powdered sugar
dash of vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place 1 sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 6 equal rectangles. You can also cut them into triangles if you want to make triangular shaped strudel!
In 1 bowl, whisk together the jam of your choice and the cornstarch and spoon 1 heaping tbs of jam into the centre of the rectangles. Do not overstuff or else you’ll have jam leaking out and it’s not pretty!
In another small bowl whisk together egg. Lightly brush rim (section around edges not covered with jam) with egg mixture. Layer remaining puff pastry rectangles over jam coated puff pastry and press edges to seal with a fork!
Brush tops of each strudel lightly with egg wash. Bake about 10 minutes, or until they are very lightly browned. If you’re going to eat them right away, then toast them until they are golden brown!
Let your pastry completely cool and put in ziplock bag or reusable freezer safe container.
When you’re ready to enjoy on a busy weekday morning, take directly out of freezer and place in your R180 High-Speed Smart Toaster. Select the Pastry setting and choose the Frozen option! They will come out toasted to perfect each and every time.
THAT’S IT!
For the icing, whisk together all ingredients in a small bowl and spread over the strudel when it’s warm out of the toaster.

The time came for my oldest son, Zane, to say bye to his crib and hello to a big boy bed. First off, the details. The gold corner accents and gold binding rings tug at my heart. This planner is such a piece, that it can sit on a desk as decor and doesn’t need to be tucked away when I’m cleaning up.

The first section is Dream - pages filled with “Big Ideas” and “Minor Details” so that you can map out how to conquer the year and every idea, thought and inspiration that comes to mind. This weekend I busted out the ULTIMATE tool: the Hamilton Beach® Professional 14 Cup Dicing Food Processor and got baking with a good friend of mine :). If you've been looking for the perfect gift idea for Mother's Day.... look no further! This machine does it all: it dices, slices, shreds, kneads, chops, mixes and purees. Seems too good to be true... right? Well I put it to the test with homemade scones - and spoiler alert: they were DELICIOUS, so easy to make because of Hamilton Beach's food processor, and took under 30 mins from start to finish!
My fave feature of Hamilton Beach's Professional 14 Cup Dicing Food Processor is that it's really quiet... much quieter than the others out there. It also comes with a super practical storage box to keep all the accessories organized which means no searching through my mess of a kitchen drawer to find them! But the best... the blades, bowl and lid are all dishwasher safe #mom win. It would made a great gift for Mother's Day... or for yourself :). This recipe, from start to finish, took 30 mins thanks to this food processor that can do it all!
