Our Modern Bathroom Transformation with American Standard Canada

There’s nothing more exciting than a newly renovated space and fortunately we were able to tackle a super outdated space in our home - the downstairs bathroom. We completely gutted this room and although it was well worth it, it was certainly a big job. Going into this project, we knew all of the planning might become overwhelming, however one thing we knew for sure was that we would be using all American Standard bathroom fixtures and accessories; one less thing to have to worry about.

As the industry leader for over 150 years, American Standard is truly the expert in creating bathroom solutions that are not only gorgeous, but also deliver both superior performance and lasting quality. We redid our first bathroom exclusively with pieces from American Standard and would not do it any differently this time around!

We fell in love with their Studio S Bathroom Collection as it features a sleek geometric design with soft edges and a contemporary aesthetic. We also LOVED that it’s a full suite solution so that we wouldn’t need to worry about mixing and matching fixtures from different sources when planning out the space. The full collection of faucets, toilets, shower systems, vanities, and accessories is available in several stunning finishes - Matte Black (our choice), Polished Chrome, and Brushed Nickel - so you can personalize your bathroom to your liking.

Believe it or not, our Studio S Skirted Toilet is my absolute favourite part of the bathroom and I’ve decided that it’s the only toilet I will ever put in my home again. It features a PowerWash® rim that releases a surge of water to scrub the bowl with every flush and an EverClean® coating that inhibits the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. These features along with the smooth-sided concealed trapway allow me to spend less time cleaning which I LOVE, while the minimalist design adds simplicity to the space.

When choosing the shower, we knew we wanted it to provide an invigorating experience, which is why we chose the Studio S 8-inch Rain Showerhead, paired with the Studio S 2-Handle Thermostatic Valve Trim and the Contemporary Hand Shower Kit. Although the showerhead features a sleek and thin profile, it provides a drenching spray for an incredible shower experience that my family and I can’t get enough of. The valve trim features two levers which helps maintain the water temperature even when the water pressure changes, while the hand shower kit adds convenience and efficiency for an unforgettable shower experience.

Now, onto another one of my favorite parts of this bathroom - the vanity. We installed the Studio S 33” White Vanity with the matching 33” Vitreous China Vanity Sink, and the Studio S Widespread Bathroom Faucet with Lever Handles. The vanity’s modular design works so well in any bathroom space and I love that it features 2 large drawers for lots of storage. If you’re looking to personalize the vanity, you can do so by choosing the size (33” or 24”), the color (white or dark grey), and floating or with legs. There’s even an option to install two vanities side by side for a statement piece with tons of counter space.

The sink features a gorgeous glossy finish and is made of durable vitreous china so it’s resistant to stains, chipping and scratches. Who doesn’t love a long-lasting high quality sink?! The Studio S Faucet ties in perfectly with the rest of the collection with its minimalist design, and just so happens to be WaterSense certified providing up to 32% water-savings! It also has a brass spout for a durable and long-lasting design.

Last but not least, let’s move on to the most relaxing part of our bathroom reno - the tub. We chose the Studio S Freestanding Bathtub paired with the Serin Contemporary Round Freestanding Bathtub Faucet and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! The soft oval shape of the tub and impressive soaking depth (17 inches!) means you can have the most indulgent bath of your life (beware: you may never want to get out!). The tub filler faucet features a contemporary arched design that matches the vanity faucet perfectly, which I absolutely love. If you’re considering revamping any part of your bathroom, I highly recommend a tub upgrade - you will not regret it.

We’re so thrilled with how this space turned out. Not only has it become one of my new favourite rooms in the house, but it has also reminded me of how much I love diving deep into these reno projects (and a freestanding tub). There is no doubt in my mind that the next time we renovate a bathroom or kitchen, we’ll be choosing American Standard fixtures again for their timeless beauty and unwavering quality.
