Holiday Baking With Blue's Clues & You!

Do you have any holiday traditions or memories from your childhood around the holidays that you want to recreate with your kids? I remember one my favorite childhood memories was baking with my mom so any chance I get, I’m in the kitchen with my son and the holidays are no exception!
When I found out that my son’s favorite show, Blue’s Clues & You! was having a Holiday Special on December 4th, I knew we had to make some Blue’s Clues themed holiday cookies and get ready to have the best day ever! There’s nothing more fun than decorating cookies, drinking hot chocolate and cuddling on the couch to watch your kid’s favorite show.
If you’ve never tuned in to an episode of Blue’s Clues & You!, here’s why your children will LOVE it! The show stars Blue, a school-aged puppy with a clue! Each day, Blue leaves her paw prints on objects around her house for her friend, Josh, to find! And Josh always needs the viewer’s help to solve riddles and decode her clues! Your children will be laughing, learning, singing and yelling out answers at the TV as they help Josh solve Blue’s Clues!
For the holidays, Blue’s Clues & You! is having a Holiday Special: Blue’s Night Before Christmas. You won’t want to miss it and can tune in tomorrow, December 4th at 11/10c on Nickelodeon to watch it! It’s about the night before Christmas with Josh and Blue as they try to figure out what Blue wants for Christmas and, as always, Josh needs your child's help! The night will be full of fun, Santa’s Workshop, Reindeer, presents and more!
So get to baking and join me while we decorate Blue’s Clues & You! cookies and tune in for a magical day with Blue and Josh! I have a super easy Shortbread Cookie recipe that your kids will love and so will you because it takes 20 mins from start to finish!
Ingredients:
3 Sticks of salted butter
1 cup of icing sugar
4 cups of flour
Directions
Preheat oven to 325
Add butter, once at room temperature, to a mixer and mix until smooth
Add icing sugar until well mixed
Add flour slowly
Roll out dough to 1/4 of an inch thick and cut into Blue’s Clues holiday shapes such as bones, trees, candy canes etc.
Bake for 12-15 mins
Let cool and decorate!
